Lawrence W. Bradley was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 24, 1964. His mother Betty L. Bradley was of Irish and Danish descent and his biological father Jesse Solis was of Mexican American descent.
When Larry was two years old his mother married a full blood Oglala Lakota named Lester Kills Crow. Thus, Larry is half Irish, half Mexican, raised by Indians, in the Black neighborhoods of inner-city Omaha.
Larry Bradley is a veteran of the United States Army. He was a pawn in the Cold War and served honorably from 1982-1986. Larry is close relation to 5 Star General Omar Bradley. Larry’s grandfather, Glenn Bradley, and Omar Bradley both came from Moberly, MO. Meanwhile, Larry’s other grandfather, Aurelio Solis, was born in Jalisco, Mexico. Aurelio was raised in the United States and became a citizen at the age of 59.
Larry is married to a beautiful Latina from New Mexico named Sylvia Rael. Sylvia matriculated through Creighton University from undergraduate to medical college. Sylvia and Larry have two children, Bianca and Xavier, who attend the University of Nebraska and Southeast Community College (Baseball) respectively.
Larry attained his doctorate of geography from UNL in May 2000, and he lectures environmental geology at UNO. The Governor of Nebraska appointed Bradley to serve on the Environmental Quality Council as the Minority Populations Representative from 2005-2009. Bradley is finishing up three years as the President of the Ancient Order of Hibernians-Father Flanagan Division. Also, Larry was the Commander of a local Omaha veteran’s post for eight years.Finally, Larry Bradley was voted in by the people to serve as Director for District 3 on the Papio-Missouri River NRD board from 2008-2012, and was reelected in 2016. For a total of five years he has been on the NRD Finance Committee overseeing an approximate $70,000,000.00 annual budget.
